Is fitness your forte? Or, do you dread working out? Whether you’re a seasoned athlete, casual exerciser, or habitual couch potato, Nutrition for Sports & Exercise is for you. Facilitated by CSUF's own Registered Dietitian Jimmy Alvarado and the TitanWell Nutrition Advocate peer health education team, this workshop is designed to help you optimize nutrition for peak performance. We’ll discuss:

  • Calorie, carb, fat, and protein needs and timing
  • How to fuel up before, during, and after activity
  • Easy meal prep and snack ideas
  • Hydration and supplements—Sports drinks, BCAAs, creatine, protein & pre-workout powders, and more
  • Considerations for weight gain and weight loss
  • Easy physical activity ideas for busy students

Workshop includes interactive lecture, Q&A, and giveaway/opportunity drawing. Free lunch will be provided as you assemble your Performance Plate in partnership with The Gastronome. As the old saying goes, “a journey of 10,000 steps begins with a single…meal!"

Restrictions

Check-in will begin 15 minutes before the workshop start time. Please plan to arrive early to get settled. If you arrive more than 5 minutes after the presentation start time, you will NOT be admitted to the workshop.

If you need to cancel your RSVP, please submit a refund request at least 24 hours before the workshop so that we can open up your slot for another eager student on our wait list.
